What is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC)?
Commonly called AT, ATC, or Athletic Trainer – we are high qualified, multi-skilled healthcare professionals who specialize in providing care for athletes. As a part of the health care team, services provided by athletic trainers include primary care, injury and illness prevention, wellness promotion and education, emergent care, examination and clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. Certified Athletic Trainers (ATC) are a great resource to have in your corner as an athlete. For most athletes, their exposure and understanding of what an athletic trainer is and how they can utilize them best comes from their time in high school and college interacting with their ATC.
ATC’s work in all different kinds of settings – schools, clinics, professional sports, performing arts – we are there to keep all kinds of athletes safe, healthy, and performing! For most ATCs, their day to day consists of pre-practice/game taping and bracing, going to practice and games, sideline coverage, on field injury assessments, and then treatment and injury rehab…typically juggling many things and many athletes at one time. ATCs are professional multi-taskers and are vital to athletes’ health and safety!

So what makes services different at Aris Athletic Medicine & Performance?
At Aris, we provide completely individualized, comprehensive athletic medicine, performance, and recovery to optimize athletic performance. Meaning – every time an athlete is working with me, they are one on one with an AT and receive our undivided attention. Every single thing we do in a session is designed to help them reach their goals, in a way that their body and mind know how! Every single human body is different – and it’s up to us (the clinician) to understand how the human in front of us is going to respond and what to do to help them succeed as quickly as possible while keeping them safe and creating sustainable, positive habits.
At Aris Athletic Medicine & Performance we care for the human first – athlete second.
