The Activ8 coaching philosophy is deeply rooted in preparing high school and collegiate athletes for the intensity of collegiate sports performance while challenging them to continue developing their athletic abilities. Evolving athletic performance starts by assessing each athlete’s strengths and deficiencies.
Improvement must be tracked through pre & post testing, however, movement mechanics, efficiency and grit are all things that numbers and machines cannot track. It’s developing athletic traits like this that translates to becoming a better athlete.

Activ8 is an experience I will never forget! The entire staff there is dedicated to helping you become the best version of yourself. They were not only supportive coaches but easily became the friends you know will always have your back whenever you need them. I spent 4 months of strengthening and conditioning with Activ8 after rehabbing from an ACL and meniscus surgery, which happened to be the best decision! I worked mainly with Coach TJ who knew exactly what I could and needed to do in order to get back to a D1 athlete performance. He carefully crafted programs that would challenge me but gave me the confidence I needed to recover for my preseason training. One special touch about Activ8 is the knowledge they share with their clients. Being injured automatically made me more cautious about the movements I was performing, but the guidance the coaching staff offered gave me a better understanding of where to focus my attention while performing movements. Understanding why movements are performed specific ways or where to focus my energy was extremely valuable information that not many other coaches explain to their athletes.

The summer packet of a D1 athlete at a Power 5 school is a hefty thing. At the beginning of the summer I was feeling a little bit overwhelmed by the prospect of it all! I gave my packet to Activ8 with a cry for help! They not only helped me achieve all of my teams fitness standards but have one of the highest scoring Yo-Yo scores on the team! I could not have done it without them and am definitely coming back next summer!!

At certain points in an athlete’s career we face obstacles that seem insurmountable. It’s in those moments that you take a deep breath and make up your mind to continue or stop. When it’s all said and done most of us can think back to one of these moments in our career.
Caroline H. decided to continue. Based on the way she’s trained over the summer, it doesn’t seem like the task of returning to the lacrosse field is as insurmountable as it once seemed.
After graduating, Caroline came back to coach for North Coast Storm Lacrosse. Activ8 is now training some of the athletes part of that program through our team training.
