Lorin Ferrell, MBA, ATC, SMTC
Founder, Certified Athletic Trainer

Born and raised in North Carolina, Lorin moved to San Diego in early 2022.
She founded Aris Athletic Medicine & Performance after recognizing the demand for skilled practitioners who understand the needs of elite athletes.
Lorin is a Certified Athletic Trainer with over 7 years of experience in collegiate, professional, and Olympic sport. She has worked with all kinds of athletes – ranging from figure skating to basketball to rugby.
She is highly skilled in manual therapy, injury prevention, sport specific return to play, and recovery and injury rehabilitation. She understands that in order for athletes to feel confident getting back onto the field, they have to be both physically and mentally ready. Her philosophy of “human first, athlete second” ensures that she is always going to have your best interest in mind and will empower you to make informed decisions when it comes to your health and wellness.
Currently, she serves as an Athletic Trainer at the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee in Chula Vista, CA.

Karla Velazquez, DAT, ATC, CSCS

Karla was raised in Southern California and moved to North County, San Diego in 2019. She is a Certified Athletic Trainer and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with over 9 years of experience in collegiate, secondary school, and military settings. She started her career working as an athletic trainer in a local high school before deciding to expand her skill set and work with the US Marine Corps. She developed the Combat Center Sports Medicine Department aboard Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms, CA before making the move to Camp Pendleton, CA where she worked with Marine Corps Special Operations as the Head Athletic Trainer and a Strength and Conditioning Coach. She recently completed her Doctorate in Athletic Training and is currently working with Wounded Warrior Battalion West on Camp Pendleton.
She is a skilled manual therapist and has extensive knowledge in injury prevention, assessment, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries. She believes in the holistic approach and ensures that each athlete is confident in their level of care and they are able work alongside each other to make the best informed decisions regarding their recovery.
